Online news publications have taken storm when it comes to formats of getting the news. It’s no secret that readers have gone digital to stay connected with the latest news concerning anything from sports to politics. As a journalism student, it’s required of me to understand and stay on top of what it takes to make a great interactive, multimedia news site. Over the semester, I will follow the Boston Herald’s online publication, analyze their strategies of presenting news in the digital age and will provide updates and reviews on their top stories. Follow me in learning what techniques make an online news source outcompete their countless competitors and how the internet has transformed journalism into a world that must present fast, visually-compelling, and interactive multimedia packages.
